Obituary for Daniel Michael "Dan" Leary
Daniel Michael Leary, age 58, passed away unexpectedly November 5th, 2019. He is survived by his three children: Katharine, Ian & Thomas; mother, Dena (Haglund) Leary; sister, Diane (Steve) Hotkowski; former wife Maria; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his grandparents; father, Raphael Leary and brother, Sean Patrick.
Dan was born January 14, 1961 to Raphael & Dena Leary in Milwaukee, WI. He graduated from Muskego High School and UW – Stout with a degree in Marketing and Distributive Education. He worked as a regional sales manager in the IP/IT/Telecom industry.
His first passion was his family. His second was basketball followed closely by the Green Bay Packers. After playing basketball while in college, he coached youth basketball at the AAU level and was admired and appreciated by players and parents alike. His enthusiasm was contagious and he was passionate about teaching kids the game. Dan was a stalwart supporter of the Green Bay Packers. He also enjoyed snowmobiling and deer hunting. He was happiest surrounded by friends and family. His Irish heritage shone brightest when he was reminiscing and telling stories.
Family and friends are invited to the Huber Funeral Home, 520 2nd St., Excelsior, MN from 4-7pm Friday, November 15th to share stories, grieve and support each other.
