Obituary for Teresa Joan Zilka (Zilka)
Teresa “Terry” Joan Zilka age 88 of Chanhassen passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 12, 2020 at the Carver Senior Assisted Living in Carver, MN
Teresa was born in Little Falls, Minnesota on May 18, 1931 to Frank and Agnes Zilka and was the youngest of 6 children.
Terry graduated from Little Falls High School in 1949 and attended St Cloud Beauty College. After graduating she moved to Minneapolis and attended business school.
In 1967 Teresa moved to Mountainview, California where she continued to further her education in business.
In 1975 Terry moved back to Minneapolis opening her own business, Electrolysis by Julie which she ran for 18 years and retired from in 1993. Terry spent the majority of her retirement years living in Chanhassen, MN where she enjoyed traveling, golfing, going to the Minnesota Arboretum and spending time with her friends.
Terry possessed a quick wit, sharp sense of humor and a no-nonsense view of the world. She had a strong faith in her religion and knew she would be reunited with her Lord Jesus and her family.
She is survived by her sister, Marcella Matteson, five nieces and nephews many great nieces and nephews and special friends. Terry will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Gertrude Prozinski, Lucille Zilka and brothers Stanley and Isadore Zilka.
