Obituary for Scott Donald Sinjem

Scott Donald Sinjem made his journey home on April 25th due to the Covid 19 virus and the idiocy in Washington D.C. Scott also fought a long battle with frontal lobe dementia. Scott was born in Duluth on May 28, 1959 to Donald and Barbara Sinjem. The oldest of four boys, Scott grew up in New Hope with siblings Steve, Chuck and Todd. Growing up Scott loved to play hockey and soccer. Some of his best memories were his in sports successes with his friends and brothers at Cooper High School. He also loved to fish with his grandpas. Scott graduated from St.Thomas in 1981. He began his accounting career with big 8 firm Peat Marwick & Mitchell. He spent most of his career as Chief Financial Officer of Hardrives, Inc. and FABcon. Scott's deepest love was his family. He was a devoted father, husband, son & big brother. Scott was a dedicated father to his children Hannah & Sam. He proved his dedication and also his bravery when he joined the "Dads" dance group at Hannah's dance studio. Throughout his 9 year battle with dementia Scott amazed those who visited him with his courage and by always remaining positive and upbeat. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him. Scott is survived by his children Hannah and Sam, his father, Don (Kitty) Sinjem, brothers, Steve (Jackie), Chuck (Mary) and Todd (Kim) Sinjem and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Sinjem, aunts Mary Sinjem & Joan Hawkins, his grandparents, cousin, Mitchell Needham, close childhood friend Bill Olson and many other dear relatives. A private funeral will take place Monday May 4th with interment at 11:30 at Gethsemane Cemetery.Special thanks to Pete & Tracy B, the staff at Mercy hospital, Steve Sahl, Natalie & the staff at The Caring Crew, and all who ensured Scott received excellent care as he battled dementia and COVID-19.
